My passion is Mixed Media prints with applied encaustic wax and oil paint. My encaustic wax prints begin as Archival pigment prints on paper. The print is then glued to wood and then covered with gel medium. Then, I apply the encaustic wax which adds texture and deepens the blacks. The wax provides protection so that the art does not need to be behind glass. Such works are limited in number because of the time and labor involved, hence the elevated price.
